Heaven enjoys a snow cone at the event

Throughout Old town Clovis at Big Hat Day on April 2nd and 3rd many people showed off their big hats as they walked around looking at all the neat things to buy. It was a balmy day, making Big Hat Day the perfect event to go to on the weekend.
There were many attractions for the kids and others for adults which gave everyone the opportunity to enjoy their time. Families waited in long lines to pet and ride ponies. In the meantime, others were waiting to jump and laugh in bounce houses.
The sweet and salty aroma of kettle corn, the melted sugar smell of fresh cotton candy, and the cheesy scent of pizza filled the air. Vendors were out selling hand crafted arts, jewelry, and many interesting toys for kids. Kids ran around with balloon animals and matching face paint. Many people left with fun memories and food to end the evening, a welcome relief of being more back to “normal” after it was cancelled the past two years during the COVID lockdown.
